reVoltaire – is the leader of the artistic group kinema ikon, the most reputed and long lasting experimental art group in Romania (with over 50 years of existence). In 1970, a new generation of artists started producing new types of art – mixed media and installations, and soon after the fall of the Iron Curtain, KI was already invited to participate in an experimental film exhibition at the Pompidou Centre. Between 1994 and 2004, the group became one of the most active in promoting digital art, net.art and interactive art.

 

The exhibition presented at META Spațiu presents the experimental oeuvre of the artist, a meta-installation, taking various forms: from video, to interactive algorithms, books, objects.

 

reVoltaire’s solo show explores the concept of exhibition as a medium, an imagined ecosystem in which all things become invisible, possible and intangible through code. The exhibited artworks oscillate between presence and absence, appearance and disappearance and are references to a complex system that the artist created out of personal discoveries, knowledge and credentials.
